WHAT P4G CAN OFFER

P4G, Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030, is a global initiative that seeks to accelerate the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030 via market driven green solutions. This will be achieved through the development and scaling of public-private partnerships in developing countries with a special focus on energy, water, land-use, food, sustainable cities and circular economy. By harnessing the combined strength of the public sector, civil society, research institutions and the private sector, P4G will facilitate concrete action that makes a sizeable contribution to implementing the SDGs. P4G was launched in September 2017 by Denmark and eight other partner countries: Republic of Korea, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Kenya, Chile, Mexico, Colombia and the Netherlands.

In short, P4G supports partnerships which encompass methods and solutions that have the ability to create systemic change. With support to start-ups, but always with a potential for scale-up of replication. Partnerships will help implementing sustainable solutions in developing countries at a large scale and create jobs and prosperity. But partnerships also have immense business potential.

State of Green is the national Danish platform of P4G and will strengthen the involvement of Danish stakeholders in P4G partnerships and activities. Contact us to learn more!

How P4G is organized

P4G’s global activities are coordinated by the P4G Hub, based in Washington: Funding for partnerships, partnership proposals and connections to national platforms. In addition, the hub is the secretariat for the P4G Board of Directors. In each of the nine partner countries the involvement of national stakeholders is secured by a national platform.

State of Green as the national Danish platform

As a public-private partnerships, State of Green bridges interests from all aspects of society. The P4G activities of State of Green is supervised by the State of Green Board. To involve stakeholders in Denmark, the national platform consults the Advisory Panel with 22 members from ministries, municipalities, investors, think tanks, universities, NGOs and business organisations. A business network complements the work to tie national stakeholders to the initiative.

Funding, facilitation, recognition

P4G supports partnerships in three ways: Through funding to a limited amount of start-up or scale-up partnerships. Through facilitation of partnerships. And by recognition of special partnerships.

A global network – a unique opportunity

P4G provides access to a robust network of leaders and experts, spanning ministers and ministries to universities, finance and industry. This global network can catalyze further cooperation and help the seeding of new partnerships and strengthen existing ones.

THE DANISH TEAM

The national P4G platform is based at State of Green, the Danish green branding organization. The main focus is to involve Danish stakeholders in partnerships, and to explore the opportunities in the global P4G setup.
